If you want to experience the wealth of nature present on Grand Bahama Island, a kayak trip through the Lucayan National Park is your best option.  As you paddle through the mangrove marsh and hear the myriad song birds, you will know you are experiencing something very special.  Our experienced guides will give you deep insight into the nature and history of the island while leading you through the bionetwork that makes up this tropical paradise.

Before you hop into your sturdy two-person kayak, your guide will give you a brief lesson in paddling and in safety.  You enter the nature reserve through the emerald waters of the mangrove swamp, a shallow-water estuary which provides a protective home to many animal species, such as the stripe-headed tanager.  The first stop on your tour is Gold Rock Beach, where you can enjoy lunch while watching the calm Caribbean surf.  After lunch, there is time to plunge into the blue water or just take it easy on the beach.  Your will also have the opportunity to join a guided nature trek during which you will see more rare birds and plants.

The Lucayan National Park consists of six separate ecosystems that make Grand Bahama Island such a special place.  Your tour guide will point out and explain how these systems formed and how they work to protect and support a wealth of organisms.  The park also encompasses the Lucayan Caves, an extensive cave-system that played an important role in the Pre-Colombian culture of the Lucayans.  Through your guide's narrated tour, you will gain in-depth knowledge about the Lucayans and the natural world they called home.

Let Grand Bahama Island captivate you with its natural beauty on this fun-filled eco-tour of the Lucayan National Park!
