Blue Lagoon Swim with the Dolphins Overview
Interact with the friendliest creature of the sea — the bottlenose dolphin — in the beautiful crystal-clear water of Blue Lagoon Island. This educational adventure will be a highlight of your vacation.
Just a short ferry ride from Nassau Harbor is the beautiful Salt Cay, more popularly known today as Blue Lagoon Island. This island paradise is home a pod of dolphins that would love nothing more than to share the water with you. The island also includes an educational and training center where you will learn everything you need to know about the bottlenose dolphin. The bottlenose dolphin is the most common of the dolphin family. They live in warm-water climates around the world in pods ranging from 10 to 30 dolphins. The dolphins communicate with each other by squeaks and whistles. They are also attuned to each other's body language. Slapping their tails on the ocean's surface is another way they talk to each other. At our educational center, you will learn about the bottlenose dolphins' social structure, how we care for our pod of dolphins, and what animal training techniques we use. By the time you are ready to get into the water, you will know how to entice our friendly residents how to do tricks for you. You will also learn about the ecosystem that supports amazing aquatic wildlife like the dolphin.
After you have learned everything we have to teach you about the bottlenose dolphin, it's time to take a swim these sea creatures and experience them personally. These dolphins are not shy. They love to be hugged and to swim up and give you a kiss. Work with the trainers to encourage the dolphins to show off their tricks and acrobatic skills. At the end of the swim, everyone will have a chance to experience dolphin foot push. In this maneuver, two dolphins will propel your body forward in the water by pushing on your feet with their heads. Our professional photographers and videographers will be right there to capture your experience with the dolphins so you can relive this exciting day for years to come.
