Formerly a part of the massive British Empire, and once a hotly embattled region that was used by pirates, the island of Nassau in the Bahamas is still marked by the remnants of its rich historical past. Our tour will take you all around the island, through the city and out into the surrounding countryside, to witness many of these enthralling monuments, while you learn about its fascinating history.

Begin your trip in the charming downtown area of Nassau City, remarkable for its many famous, historical landmarks. This area is full of colonial appeal as there are still many buildings standing whose construction harkens back to a much earlier time. Built back in 1815, you will be enamored and delighted by the original Parliament Square. Nearby buildings include the House of Assembly, the former Colonial Secretary's Office, and the Supreme Court where still remains a statue in the likeness of her majesty, Queen Victoria. Down by the sea side, you will see the weathered remains of forts which were once used by pirates as hiding places and as places from which they could conduct naval battles. Some of the most infamous pirates to inhabit these regions were the ruthless Henry Morgan and the cutthroat William Teach, better known by many as Blackbeard.

After exploring the city, this tour will wend its way out into the stunning, tropical countryside where you will learn more about the local history as well as traditional folk tales of the region. Follow our enthusiastic and educated guides through this island paradise as they regale you with its fascinating and exciting history and lore as well as keep you abreast of factual details and information. You are certain to gain a wholly new appreciation of these wonderful islands after you experience this fun and informative tour.
