Where will my cruise ship dock upon arrival?

The docking location for cruise ships arriving in Freeport Bahamas is the Lucayan Harbour. The harbor lies on the Western coast of Grand Bahama Island. Please note that there are no hotels or tour departure areas in proximity to Lucayan Harbour. Visitors usually have to travel to Port Lucaya where most of Freeport's visitor attractions and activities take place.

I need to go to Port Lucaya, but where is it?

Port Lucaya is an approximate 25 minutes drive from the cruise ship terminal. Most resorts and pick-up and departure points for activities are located here, so it's the destination for cruise ship visitors once they have exited the ship. The Port Lucaya Marina is also located here and serves as the central location for water activities and fishing charters.

I need a taxi! Where do I go?

Once you have disembarked, exit the cruise ship terminal and look for the minivan taxies. Rates are based on destinations and number of passengers and there is room for negotiation. Make sure you reach an agreement with the taxi driver before starting the trip.

But why can't visitors be picked up from the cruise ship dock?

The private owners of Lucayan Harbour have implemented regulations that only allow taxis at the pickup location. Activity buses are very rarely allowed to enter the harbor, so visitors have to travel to Port Lucaya on their own.

Please call the contact number on your booking confirmation. Let us know about your ship's new arrival time and we will do our best to change your booking. If we are unable to find an alternative and you miss your tour or activity, we will work this out with you.

Once my cruise ship arrives at the dock, how much time will it take to disembark?

Disembarking times can vary significantly based on which line you are traveling with. We recommend that you factor in 30-45 minutes for exiting your ship. Also make sure that you don't wait until the last minute, so try to get off the ship as soon as possible. You and everyone else must go through security screenings, which can take some time. Please keep this in mind when booking with us.
